GATE OF HORROR 1) HELL-O PEOPLE FROM LACERATER, YOUR MCD "NESSUN URLO NELL' OMBRA" HAS BEEN DISTRIBUTED VERY WELL, TELL US ABOUT THE REVIEWS OF IT, PERSONALLY I LIKED IT VERY MUCH, HAVE YOU GOT ANY PROPOSAL TO RELEASE THE DEBUT ALBUM? Thanks for your regard, bro! Regarding the distribution, we knew we were presenting a high level, competitive product and obviously we have thought it better to do a widespread distribution and this requires a hard work of contacts and management. We did (and do) it by ourselves! No agency, promoters or label…Nothing at all. Only ourselves and our fuckin’ energies! Well, we can consider ourselves satisfied…We continue to receive so many positive opinions both from Italy and from foreign countries (you can read the reviews we received on: http://www.lacerater.com/lacerater-reviews.htm ). Our aim was to utter a growling cry to say: Hey we’re here, come listening to us! The professional graphic (thanx to Luca ANtoniazzi for graphics and Alex Mercatali for the photos used) help us too..a lot of people say "fuck! your graphic is fucking great!" and this is a good think! And finally we received an echo from “planeta Metal”…the same fact you’re interviewing us it’s a concrete proof of it... Metal-heads from all over the world are contacting us via email and space to congratulate us on “Nessun Urlo Nell'Ombra”. We really hope to find a label which can believe in us and support us for a new, damned, groove and putrid LP! 2) BY THE WAY HAVE YOU MADE NEW SONGS FOR THE DEBUT ALBUM? ARE YOU READY TO RECORD IT? OR DO YOU PREFER TO SPREAD MORE THIS MCD? We haven’t finished promoting “Nessun Urlo Nell’Ombra”... Each of the 4 songs contained in our Ep meets with success in a part of our audience... For instance there is someone who prefers O.S.S.A for its almost progressive vein, someone W.h 22 for the power the refrain gives off, someone NatoMorto for its Cannibal Corpse touch, someone Sangue (l’odore del) for the clear madness of its structure. However, we‘re preparing some new fuckin’ cruel songs, which can’t wait to tear our fans’ years to pieces...and mangle sanctimonious grannies’ hearts!! With the entry of the new guitarist, Luca, our potential has grown and our groove has increased...People who have heard our new songs are astonished by the new power they emanate. Our purpose is, after completing the promotion of “Nessun’ Urlo Nell’Ombra”, to retire to a recording studio and give birth to an evilest and grooviest new album. 3) THE SOUND OF THE MCD IS GREAT, YOU RECORDED IT AT FEAR STUDIO, ARE YOU GOING TO USE THIS STUDIO AGAIN? Thanx...We’re so fuckin’ satisfied our Ep is meeting with success…Metal-heads’ support is really important for an insane, plucky, ultraist band as LACERATER…? By the way, Fear Studio is among the best recording studios in Italy...They’ve done indeed an excellent work. Fear Studio’s guys are great and I think if we would record the new album in Italy, we’ll certainly choose them. 4) HAVE YOU MADE SHOWS TO SUPPORT THIS MCD? DO YOU HAVE IN MIND TO DO A TOUR FOR THE SUPPORT OF IT? Yeah, our idea is to play gigs everywhere in Italy, to scatter the madness’ seed given off by “Nessun’ Urlo Nell’Ombra”. And it isn’t easy here in Italy... There aren’t many places and often they don’t refund bands expenses. But we aren’t interested about it. We want only our damned music to be listened to by metal-heads, both boys and girls. So, sometimes we play without being paid, just to have the chance to play… The truth is that, in Italy, art, and especially music, is considered almost useless. What a pity (!), that this happens in a country like this, which can be considered a museum under the open sky…just think to Rome, Venice, Bologna, Florence… But…don’t mind guyz, we’re hard nuts to crack and we consider any problem as a dare…and we never give up… Therefore we will play wherever it will be possible, always without skimping our brutal energies. 5) I THINK THE DEATH METAL SCENE IN ITALY IS GETTING STRONGER AGAIN, HOW ABOUT YOUR LOCAL SCENE, ARE THERE MANY NEW DM BANDS THERE? In Italy there is a great deal of first rate extreme metal bands. The problem is that, here, it’s almost impossible that playing music becomes a job and when the players are not young any more, they have to earn their living, so many of them give up… Therefore, also if there are a lot of sound bands, it doesn’t exist an out and out death scene, especially in our area. But this is also a country full of creative guyz, so you can find very interesting bands! We try our (bestial) best to kill the lack of prospects with the excess of mad music…and the support we’re receiving from metal-heads is essential to keep on. 6) YOUR LYRICS ARE IN ITALIAN, YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE, THE MAJORITY OF BANDS USE THE ENGLISH ONE, WILL YOU CONTINUE WRITING YOUR LYRICS IN ITALIAN LANGUAGE? (BY THE WAY YOUR FIRST DEMOS USED TO HAVE THE SONGS IN ENGLISH!) It has been an experiment…a totally successful experiment! Lyrics in Italian have been immediately accepted as a positive novelty in our country and also as an interesting one, abroad! Antonio’s aim was to write deeper lyrics than the usual ones which deal only with disembowelments of all sorts. And the best language to communicate at one’s best is always the native language…Therefore we’ve dared! Lyrics are mostly in a rhymed prose, they’re almost poetries… We promise that from the next album we will put lyrics translations on our site to allow foreign people to understand our lyrics…or we could enclose to the album a “Learn Italian with Lacerater” DVD…it could be a hit! However, joking apart, Lacerater’s lyrics are one of the peculiarities which make our band different…so we think we’ll go on like this! 7) YOU SEEM BE INFLUENCED BY CANNIBAL CORPSE (DO YOU LIKE THEIR LAST ALBUM "KILL"?) WHICH OTHER BANDS HAVE INFLUENCED YOUR MUSIC? Cannibal Corpse have perfected and spread an extreme genre as brutal death, so we consider them as godfathers! The influences in our music are various; certainly there are massive doses of Cannibal Corpse in our guitarists' unhealthy and creative veins. Actually Cannibal Corpse influences are decreasing more and more in our sound for the benefit of groove, since with the entry of the new guitarist Luca our musical horizons have been doubled…STAY TUNED...Lacerater are going to hurt u in the most sadistic way! Ahahaha!! P.s. Kill is a good album, but Gallery of Suicide is the real masterpiece! 8) WHICH DIFFERENCES DO YOU FIND BETWEEN YOUR LAST MCD WITH THEIR PREVIOUS 2 DEMOS? We can say that they’re two different bands...3/5 of the band has changed and the sound is changed too...Also the moniker is changed from Lacerated to LACERATER. The new revolutionized but definitive line-up is: Antonio Susca on the voice, Marco Lambertini and Luca Sammartino on the guitars, Marco Zirondelli (aka Ziro) on the bass and Riccardo Grechi on the drums. We can say that we have two demos (old school death oriented) behind us, but the band’s potential and death (brutal, hardcore, grind) influences only start expressing themselves from “Nessun Urlo Nell'Ombra”. 9) YOU HAVE A HOT MODEL IN YOUR MYSPACE PAGE, IS SHE A FRIEND OF YOURS? DOES ITALY HAVE SUCH METAL GIRLS FANS? IF SO, HOW CAN I MANAGE TO LIVE THERE?! HAHAHA Yeah! She’s a friend of ours that has kindly thrown her womanhood to greedy sights of the metal-heads that surf on the net. Italy is full of beautiful girls that listen to rock’n roll and heavy metal! We really can’t complain…The only problem is that when we come near to them we are possessed by an evil impulse and in our mind resounds a Lacerating and obsessive scream: KILL KILL KILL…Only after having killed them and drinked their blood to the last drop, we rape them! So if u have managed to come to Italy for “sentimental” reasons, we advise u to hurry up…Lacerater could polish off all!!! 10) FUTURE PLANS...... We’re planning a series of gigs in Italy and a little bit abroad…Our aim for 2008 is to play more gigs as possible, to write the new fuckin’ stuff and to seek a great label that could support us in a professional way… Thank u so much for your attention and we thank our fans and everyone who is discovering the fuckin’ morbid brutal LACERATER’s world!
