BURNING BLACK

“Nessun Urlo Nell'Ombra” is the band’s first release under the name of Lacerater and third work counting their two previous demos released under their former name Lacerated unleashed between 2003 and 2004.
The style this vicious quintet delivers here could be easily labelled as Brutal Death Metal with some Grindcore hints and even some straight hardcore feeling. The four tracks this EP contains moves between the mid and fast paced velocities with a great emphasis in the brutal heaviness reminding me the sound of bands such Cannibal Corpse, Prostitute Disfigurement and even Deicide at moments, but maintaining an original sound during the 13 minutes this EP lasts. The guitar work drives the music since the beginning to the end with a brutal mix of a somewhat groovy hardcore sound and obscure, vicious, sometimes Deicide styled Death Metal riffing, creating brutal passages of incredibly weight while the firm drumming provides a solid base with a remarkable performance adorned by some interesting brakes and a strong Grindcore feeling, all these complemented by the powerful bass lines of Marco Zirondelli (ex member of the Italian Black Metal band Sigma Draconis). The vocal work of Antonio Susca consists in guttural grunts mixed with some occasional shrieks, adding a morbid gore tinged aura to this, yet cruel, piece, reaching magnificent moments of violent and sick brutality, juts listen to the second track “Nato Morto” and will know what I’m talking about…
This work was recorded and mixed at FEAR Studio (Ephel Duath, Handful Of Hate, In Tormentata Quiete among others) with some really good results, the visual production is, let’s say, unusual, with some disgusting parasite looking worms picture over a pink background… a pretty weird choice for such a brutal work… anyway, “Nessun Urlo Nell'Ombra” is definitely an excellent release, a work full of intensity, brutality, weight and originality, absolutely recommendable for any Death Metal diehard
…Keep an eye on this band
